tionwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) has approved TrainingPro as an education provider, meaning the company is now authorized by the NMLS to provide the federally mandated mortgage pre-licensing and mortgage continuing education outlined in the 2008 Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (S.A.F.E. Act) to mortgage professionals nationwide. The S.A.F.E. Act establishes minimum standards for mortgage pre-licensing and mortgage continuing education, among other licensing requirements. A 20-hour pre-licensing and an eight-hour annual continuing education requirement are the minimums now set for every state. TrainingPro says it will expand its existing national curriculum and submit its S.A.F.E.-compliant courses to the NMLS as soon as the course application process is available. NMLS' criteria for education provider approval include course quality and rigor, student satisfaction, instructor qualifications, evidence for satisfactory course completion, and legal/business integrity. "TrainingPro has been providing state-accredited loan officer training for almost a decade, and it is encouraging to see the industry and regulators working together to elevate and enrich this profession through training," adds Christopher Nickerson, CEO of TrainingPro.
