Texas AG Calls For Foreclosure Stoppage

0

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has called for a halt on all foreclosures, all sales of properties previously foreclosed upon and all evictions of persons residing in previously foreclosed-upon properties, until servicers have completed a review of their processes.

Abbott has sent suspension notices to 30 servicers, seeking information on whether employees or agents of the companies ‘robosigned’ affidavits and other documents that were sent for recording.

Abbott has specifically asked the servicers to identify all foreclosures in the state in connection with robosigned affidavits, describe the measures taken to ensure affidavits and other documents comply with Texas Law, and provide assurance that all foreclosures that relied upon robosigned documents will be rectified.
