The Office of Mortgage Settlement Oversight (OMSO) has hired BDO Consulting, a division of BDO USA LLP, as its primary professional firm. BDO will work with OSMO over the next 3.5 years to oversee the implementation of the $25 billion National Mortgage Settlement.
‘As I entered the process of engaging the primary professional firm, I knew it would be critical to find the right balance of independence and capacity,’ says Joseph A. Smith Jr., the federal monitor of the settlement. ‘I conducted a thorough review of more than 20 firms, and I am confident that I have found the best balance in BDO."
