Ingeo Systems Inc., a provider of electronic document recording technology, is the first nationwide e-recording provider to submit electronic real estate documents into the California e-Recording Transaction Network Authority (CeRTNA).
CeRTNA was formed in 2007 to work with state legislators and consultants to set up rules and regulations for e-recording in California. At the same time, the entity was working with vendors to create and manage an e-recording system.
‘We have been working with Ingeo from the beginning, because the company has a long history in California," says Patrick Honney, CeRTNA's executive director. Ingeo was involved in e-recording in San Bernardino and Orange counties in the late 1990s.
"The company actually helped to shape California's [Electronic Recording Delivery Act] legislation, which was adopted in 2004, and worked with us on the rules and regulations that took almost three years to be drafted and passed as legislation,’ Honney adds.
With the CeRTNA portal, Fresno and Kern counties are live now, and El Dorado, Merced, Monterey, San Bernardino, San Joaquin, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties will follow soon.Â
