The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Reserve System have announced that the deadline for consumers to submit requests for review under the Independent Foreclosure Review has been extended to Dec. 31.
According to the agencies, the new deadline is designed to ‘increase awareness about the Independent Foreclosure Review and how eligible borrowers may request a review, and to encourage the broadest participation possible.’ The agencies add that they plan to ‘work with the servicers to expand their outreach and marketing efforts through the end of the year to encourage as much participation as possible.’
