Hyland Software Inc., developer of the OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) software suite, has unveiled a white paper titled ‘Enhancing Competitiveness in Commercial Lending.’
The recent downturn has lead to a renewed focus on process efficiency in commercial mortgage lending as a means of addressing increased competition and margin pressure, the company says. Its white paper speaks to the importance of improving processing speed, service levels and product innovation in the search for revenue growth opportunities.
‘In order to truly realize the benefits of ECM, commercial lenders must consider the full life cycle of information, from creation to archive and finally destruction,’ the paper states. ‘Lenders should consider the following: the benefits of improving how documents and content are created; how collaboration occurs among the content creators; how the company's security and compliance procedures are applied to content; and, most importantly, how content and information impact their ability to conduct business efficiently and effectively.’
