The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has launched a new website that is designed to consolidate economic and housing-market data at the regional, state, metropolitan area and county levels.

The new website combines data from the Census Bureau, Department of Labor, state and local governments, housing industry sources and HUD's field economists. Interactive maps provide access to a variety of reports, ranging from a region-wide look at employment and housing activity to individual county-level figures on population trends, rental activity and vacancy rates.

The website will also provide analysis on selected metropolitan housing markets that considers changes in the economic, demographic, and housing inventory characteristics during three periods: 1990 to 2000; 2000 to the as-of date of the analysis, and the as-of date to up to three years in the future.
