S. House of Representatives has agreed to extend the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) until Sept. 30. The bill, H.R.5569, was passed via a voice vote Wednesday. Several trade organizations, including the Mortgage Bankers Association, wrote to Congress last week, advising lawmakers to ‘take immediate action to restore confidence in the NFIP through a longer-term, stand-alone extension.’ Earlier this week, the [link=http://www.mortgageorb.com/e107_plugins/content/content_lt.php?content.6130]National Association of Realtors[/link] claimed that many potential home sales have been delayed by the interruption in the NFIP.
