12844_santa GSEs Suspend Evictions For The Holidays In their annual display of year-end benevolence, the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) are suspending evictions nationwide for the holiday season.

Freddie Mac will suspend evictions on foreclosed occupied single-family homes and two-to-four unit properties that had Freddie Mac mortgages from Dec. 17 to Jan. 2, 2013, while Fannie Mae will do the same from Dec. 19 to Jan. 2.

‘We are instructing our foreclosure attorneys to suspend pending eviction lockouts on foreclosed homes in order to provide a greater measure of certainty to families during the holiday season,’ says Tracy Mooney, senior vice president of servicing and REO at Freddie Mac.Â

The suspensions are separate from the 90-day eviction suspensions in eligible Hurricane Sandy disaster areas.
