GSEs Announce OTC Symbols

of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac's common stocks, fresh off their New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) [link=http://mortgageorb.com/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.6097]delisting[/link], will begin trading on the over-the-counter (OTC) market today, the government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) say. On the OTC market, shares of Freddie Mac's common stock, which previously traded on the NYSE under the symbol ‘FRE,’ will trade under the ticker symbol ‘FMCC.’ Fannie Mae's common stock will commence trading on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol ‘FNMA.’ The OTC Bulletin Board is a regulated quotation service that electronically transmits real-time quote, price and volume information in over-the-counter securities.
