Freddie Mac Reports On July Volume

Freddie Mac's total mortgage portfolio decreased at an annualized rate of 3.9% in July, the company reported last week. The aggregate unpaid principal balance of Freddie's mortgage-related investments portfolio decreased by approximately $13.6 billion.

Single-family refinance-loan purchase and guarantee volume was $18.1 billion in July, reflecting 64% of total mortgage portfolio purchases and issuances.

About 11,000 loan modifications were performed last month, bringing the total number of mods executed this year to 104,592. The company's single-family delinquency rate, meanwhile, decreased from 3.96% in June to 3.89% in July.

Freddie's multifamily delinquency rate, which has been fluctuating between 0.32% and 0.22% throughout the calendar year, increased slightly to 0.30% in July.
