There was no change in the average interest rates for 15- and 30-year fixed-rate mortgages in the latest week, according to the results of Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
Freddie Mac reported that the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.37% for the week ending Sept. 23, unchanged from last week. Last year at this time, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 5.04%.
Freddie Mac also reported that the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged a record low of 3.82%, unchanged from last week. A year ago at this time, the same product averaged 4.46%.
