Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Eugene Lockhart Jr. has been sentenced to 54 months in prison for his role in a $20 million mortgage fraud case.
The Dallas Morning News reports that Lockhart was involved in a case that involved 10 people who obtained 54 fraudulent loans for Dallas-area properties between 2002 and 2005. Lockhart was arrested for his role in the scam in 2009 and pleaded guilty last year to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
Lockhart played for the Cowboys from 1984 to 1990 and played for the New England Patriots from 1991 to 1992.Â
