Fitch Ratings says it has upgraded a number of Aurora Loan Services' (ALS) U.S. residential mortgage servicer ratings, including an increase in its residential primary servicer rating for subprime loans to RPS3+ from RPS3.

Fitch also assigned the following new ratings for ALS: residential primary servicer rating for Alt-A upgraded to RPS2- from RPS3+; residential special servicer rating upgraded to RSS3+ from RSS3; and residential master servicing rating upgraded to RMS2- from RMS3+.

As of July 31, 2010, ALS serviced nearly 373,000 loans with an unpaid principal balance of over $87.1 billion. Over 57% of the company's portfolio is serviced for non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities, Fitch says.
