CFPB Credit Union Adviser Leaves Agency Bart Shapiro, who has served in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) Office of Community Banks & Credit Unions as senior adviser, left the agency on Friday.

CUNA News reports that Shapiro, who joined the agency in August 2011, previously served as director of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Real Estate Settlement and Procedures Act & Interstate Land Sales.

The CFPB did not issue a formal press statement on Shapiro's departure, nor is it certain when his position will be filled.
